What should I bear in mind when installing the Smart weather sensor? Where should the Smart weather sensor be installed?
Choose a mounting position on the building where wind, rain and sun can be detected by the sensors without obstruction. There must be no structural parts above the weather sensor from which water can still drip onto the low-impact sensor after it has already stopped raining or snowing. The weather sensor must not be shaded by structures or trees.
Leave at least 60 cm of free space under and to the side of the weather sensor to allow for correct wind measurement and to prevent snowfall.
The weather sensor should be oriented approximately towards the south. The actual position of the sun will be accurately calculated later using longitude, latitude, date and time.
The weather sensor must be mounted on a vertical wall (or mast) and be horizontal (level) in the transverse direction.
In addition to mounting on the wall of the house or on the roof on a suitable pole, you will often find suitable mounting options in the garden. Garden sheds etc. are also suitable in many cases, provided that 230 volts are available.
