Switch light and lighting on and off automatically.
There are many reasons for automatically controlled lighting.
- Energy efficiency: automatic lighting turns on and off only when needed, which reduces energy consumption and thus lowers costs.
- Convenience: You don't have to manually turn lights on or off. The lighting automatically adjusts to your time of day.
- Security: Automatic lighting can help illuminate dark areas in and around your home, which can reduce the risk of accidents and break-ins.
- Mood and atmosphere: you can adjust the lighting as needed to create different moods and atmospheres.
- Environmental friendliness: by reducing energy consumption, you're helping to reduce your carbon footprint.
Lights and illuminations can be turned on and off completely automatically in conjunction with the Premium gateway.
The most effective way to do this automatically is with the gateway's Astro function.
Example 1: Switch on light in the evening by dusk
Call the Routines section in your HOMEPILOT App and click on the plus sign in the upper right corner.
- Enter a suitable name and optionally a description.
- Click Add event and select dusk (astro).
- The twilight time is calculated based on civil twilight, which is relatively late for lighting and light. Therefore, the recommendation is to set a time offset. For example - 40 minutes.
- Now you can select which devices should be controlled by this routine. To do this, click on Add/Remove Elements at the very bottom. Just click on the desired devices and then go back one step.
- For each element you can now set a destination. The selected destination will be displayed to the right of the device. Depending on which devices have been added, different destinations are available here. For switches you can choose between on and off, for Zigbee devices you can also set the color and so on.
- You can now go back so many steps until you are in the normal view.
Example 2: Switch off lights by fixed switching time
With a second routine the lights can be switched off again. To do this, select the time as the event and set it to 23:30, for example.
After adding the same devices to this routine, the destination MUST be set to OFF.
💡 Tip
If you group several devices together beforehand, you can add the entire group to the routine. This is faster.
With a routine 3, the light can then be switched on again at 6:00 in the morning if necessary and switched off again with routine 4 by dawn (please set time to 6:01 at the earliest in that case).
