HOMEPILOT App Step 2: Basic Setting, Location and Time, Network, Maintenance
Basic settings of the HOMEPILOT App
Open your HOMEPILOT App and click on Settings in the lower right corner. Then select Device configuration.
Network
In the Network section, you can activate WLAN if your Premium gateway is not to be operated permanently via LAN cable. Switch on WLAN, search for the appropriate network and enter the WLAN key. If your device remains connected to your router via LAN cable, you do not need to change anything here.
Maintenance
Under Maintenance you should create a backup file from time to time. Especially after registering new devices you should backup your data. You can backup the data locally on your smartphone or share it in other ways, for example by mail.
If you want to restore a backup file, you need to go to the location, click on the file and open it with the HOMEPILOT App.
In the maintenance section you can also check the installed app version and if you want to run your updates manually, you have the option to do that here. Normally updates are installed automatically.
Location and time
In the Location and Time section, you need to enter your geodata once so that the Premium gateway can calculate when it gets light in the morning and dark in the evening. The easiest way to get the data is to tap on your position in the Google Maps App.
Vacation function
The vacation function causes routines to behave like Sundays on holidays and custom vacation days.
Example: If you let your shutters open later on Sundays via routines, this will then also apply on holidays. Select your country, region and if necessary city.
You can also create your own holidays, such as the next day off or vacation.
HOMEPILOT Portal
In this section you can see if your Premium gateway is registered. You can enable and disable remote access if necessary. Important: The settings in this area should only be made when you are at home in your local network.
Local password
For maximum security you can set a password for local access. This means that someone who is on your local network will not have access to your Premium gateway.
Device visibility
You have the possibility to make single devices invisible. This makes sense if you have a lot of devices and don't want to see all of them in your app. You can select whether a device is visible or invisible in the configuration of the devices in the General section.
With the switch in this area you can make all invisible devices visible again.
Registered devices
Keep track of all devices connected to your Premium gateway. This point is for information only. You don't need to set anything here.
Your Premium gateway is now ready for use and you can start registering devices to the gateway.
