Backup file/Backup: How can I create a backup file and restore/import it?
Basically:
If you regularly save the data of your Premium gateway in a backup file, all data will be available in case of a reset or replacement. This backup file contains all registered devices, all routines and the complete gateway settings.
We recommend that you create a backup file when changes have been made to the programming or new devices have been registered.
Create backup file:
In the HOMEPILOT app, call up the settings and select Device configuration and then Maintenance.
Here you will find the item Create backup file. When you click on Backup, you will be offered different storage options. You can save the file to your smartphone or simply send it to you via email.
Enter password:
You can assign a password to the backup file. The file can then only be imported later if you enter the password. If you do not want to enter a password, you can simply cancel the entry.
Import/restore backup file:
Go to the location where the last backup file was saved, for example, your smartphone's memory or your email. Click on the file and open it with the HOMEPILOT app. On the iPhone, you may need to click the little "Share with" arrow.
You will be asked again if you really want to upload the file, and after confirmation the upload will start.
Hint:
If you upload a backup file to a new Premium gateway, please make sure that the new gateway has at least the same software version as the older one. If necessary, perform an update first.
