HOMEPILOT App Step 4: Create routines. Automate devices.
With routines you can customize your Smart-Home-System according to your needs. You can create automations, you can create transmitter controls, you can react to sensors and much more.
A routine works with the IF > THEN principle. If 7:00 o'clock, then shutter to 0%.
Event:
You always start with the event. The event can be a time, it can be dawn or dusk, or it can be a manual execution. You can choose the manual execution if you want to execute certain routines always only manually.
The more transmitters and sensors you register to your Premium gateway, the more events are available to you. If you register a transmitter, you will be offered transmitter control, if you register a Smart sun sensor, you will see sun as an event.
At the individual events you will find further setting options, such as entering the time, setting earliest and latest times or selecting the buttons from your transmitter.
Days:
For each trigger you can select on which days it should be triggered. So you have the option to open your shutters at 7:00 am during the week and open them at 9:30 am on the weekend with a second routine.
Conditions:
You won't use conditions with most routines, but they give you a lot of convenient options. Examples: You have a Smart door and window contact and set: when the door is opened, turn on light in the garden, with condition that it is dark (dusk) or close roller shutter at 8 pm, condition that the door from the terrace must be closed.
When the event is created appropriately, you can specify when what should happen.
Notification:
For certain events it can be useful to send notifications. For example, if a door was opened in a certain period of time or motion was detected. You can choose a push message and an email here.
Add items:
This is the most important item, because ultimately you want to use a routine to drive devices to target locations. Click Add/Remove Elements and add the devices you want to drive to.
💡 Tip
You can also add routines to a routine, but you only need this for special applications. For standard routines only devices or groups are added.
Set destination for each device:
After the devices are added, you can click on the devices and select the appropriate destination for each device.
Add step:
A routine can have multiple steps. You can set waiting times between each step and the steps will be processed one after the other after triggering.
You can find examples of routines here:
Open and close shutters by time
Control shutters by dawn and dusk. Astro function.
Several steps in one routine - use waiting times via the HOMEPILOT App.
